Buyukkirikli ranks 171st by electorate among the 184 localities of Adıyaman. The neighborhood has a single ballot box, and 53 voters were registered there for the 2023 parliamentary election.
The neighborhood parts ways with the district as a whole. At the 2023 parliamentary election it went to Yeşil Sol Parti with 30 votes, while across Adıyaman the leading party was AK Parti, with Yeşil Sol Parti here running 68.1 points above its district average. In the presidential runoff, 32 of 34 valid votes went to Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu — 56.1 points above the district average. At the 2017 referendum 56 of 58 valid votes were 'no' — 60.3 points above the district average.
The electorate shrank from 111 registered voters in 2011 to 53 in 2023 — a change of about 52 percent. Turnout at the 2024 local election was 56.9%, 15.4 points below the district average. At the 2024 local election the neighborhood went to DEM Parti with 18 votes, while Adıyaman as a whole was won by CHP. The neighborhood has stayed on the same line since 2014: the same political line has finished first in all of the last 7 elections (BDP in 2014, Yeşil Sol Parti in 2015, HDP in 2019, DEM Parti in 2024).
