Karagol ranks 56th by electorate among the 184 localities of Adıyaman; it had 313 registered voters at the 2023 parliamentary election.
The neighborhood parts ways with the district as a whole. At the 2023 parliamentary election it went to Yeşil Sol Parti with 82.3%, while across Adıyaman the leading party was AK Parti with 45.3%, leaving Yeşil Sol Parti at 15.2%. The same divide shows in the presidential runoff: Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu took 98.9% here and 38.0% across the district. At the 2017 referendum 99.1% of the neighborhood voted 'no'; across the district that was 36.2%.
The neighborhood has stayed on the same line since 2014: the same political line has finished first in all of the last 7 elections (BDP in 2014, Yeşil Sol Parti in 2015, HDP in 2019, DEM Parti in 2024). Yeşil Sol Parti stood at 95.0% at the 2015 parliamentary election and fell to 82.3% by 2023. At the 2024 local election the neighborhood went to DEM Parti with 57.7%, while Adıyaman as a whole was won by CHP. Turnout at the 2024 local election was 84.1%, 11.8 points above the district average.
