Sariyaprak-Cumhuriyet is one of the localities of Besni; it had 341 registered voters at the 2011 parliamentary election.
AK Parti took 195 of the 259 valid votes cast in the neighborhood at that election (75.3%). That puts the neighborhood 14.3 points above the party's district average. At the 2010 referendum 83.7% of the neighborhood voted 'yes' — 6.9 points above the district average.
At the 2011 parliamentary election 12 of 271 ballots cast were ruled invalid (4.4%), well above the district average. Turnout at the 2009 local election was 96.5%, 8.8 points above the district average. At the 2009 local election the neighborhood went to CHP with 60.3%, while Besni as a whole was won by AK Parti.
