Sariyaprak-Cumhuriyet is one of the localities of Besni; it had 341 registered voters at the 2011 parliamentary election.

AK Parti took 75.3% in the neighborhood at that election. Across Besni the same party stood at 61.0%, putting the neighborhood 14.3 points above the district average. At the 2010 referendum 83.7% of the neighborhood voted 'yes'; across the district that was 76.8%.

At the 2009 local election the neighborhood went to CHP with 60.3%, while Besni as a whole was won by AK Parti. Turnout at the 2009 local election was 96.5%, 8.8 points above the district average.
