How Guneykaya votes

Guneykaya ranks 44th by electorate among the 75 localities of Eleşkirt. The neighborhood has a single ballot box, and 145 voters were registered there for the 2023 parliamentary election.

The neighborhood parts ways with the district as a whole. At the 2023 parliamentary election it went to Yeşil Sol Parti with 45 votes, while across Eleşkirt the leading party was AK Parti with 43.1%, leaving Yeşil Sol Parti at 34.0%. In the presidential runoff, 40 of 72 valid votes went to Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu; across the district that share was 37.5%. At the 2017 referendum 67 of 117 valid votes were 'yes'; across the district the 'yes' share was 74.8%.

At the 2024 local election the neighborhood went to DEM Parti with 54 votes, while Eleşkirt as a whole was won by AK Parti. Turnout at the 2024 local election was 62.4%, 8.9 points below the district average.
