Alakoyun ranks 39th by electorate among the 50 localities of Hamur. The neighborhood has a single ballot box, and 88 voters were registered there for the 2023 parliamentary election.

In the presidential runoff, 35 of 56 valid votes went to Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu — 4.9 points above the district average. At the 2017 referendum 57 of 81 valid votes were 'no' — 27.9 points above the district average.
