Asagiyenigun ranks 23rd by electorate among the 50 localities of Hamur. The neighborhood has a single ballot box, and 158 voters were registered there for the 2023 parliamentary election.
The neighborhood parts ways with the district as a whole. At the 2023 parliamentary election it went to AK Parti with 46 votes, while across Hamur the leading party was Yeşil Sol Parti, with AK Parti here running 10.9 points above its district average. In the presidential runoff, 66 of 100 valid votes went to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan — 23.6 points above the district average. At the 2017 referendum 152 of 192 valid votes were 'yes' — 21.6 points above the district average.
At the 2024 local election the neighborhood went to DEVA Partisi with 106 votes, while Hamur as a whole was won by DEM Parti. The electorate shrank from 224 registered voters in 2011 to 158 in 2023 — a change of about 29 percent. First place has changed hands 7 times here since 2009.
