Budak ranks 58th by electorate among the 122 localities of Patnos; it had 288 registered voters at the 2023 parliamentary election.
Yeşil Sol Parti took 135 of the 172 valid votes cast in the neighborhood at that election (78.5%). That puts the neighborhood 26.4 points above the party's district average. In the presidential runoff Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu took 88.7% here — 16.2 points above the district average. At the 2017 referendum 87.2% of the neighborhood voted 'no' — 21.7 points above the district average.
At the 2024 local election the neighborhood went to DEM Parti with 51.6%, while Patnos as a whole was won by AK Parti. Yeşil Sol Parti stood at 100.0% at the 2015 parliamentary election and fell to 78.5% by 2023. The neighborhood has stayed on the same line since 2014: the same political line has finished first in all of the last 7 elections (BDP in 2014, Yeşil Sol Parti in 2015, HDP in 2019, DEM Parti in 2024). Turnout at the 2023 parliamentary election was 62.5%, 6.2 points below the district average.
