With 87 voters on the roll at the 2023 parliamentary election, Yurtoven stands 99th among the 122 localities of Patnos, and its votes were cast at one ballot box.
The neighborhood parts ways with the district as a whole. At the 2023 parliamentary election it went to CHP with 45 votes, while across Patnos the leading party was Yeşil Sol Parti, with CHP here running 51.5 points above its district average. In the presidential runoff, 30 of 42 valid votes went to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan — 43.8 points above the district average. At the 2017 referendum 48 of 59 valid votes were 'yes' — 46.8 points above the district average.
The tightest race came at the 2015 parliamentary election: AK Parti took 27 votes to Yeşil Sol Parti's 22 — a margin of just 5 votes. Turnout at the 2024 local election was 54.5%, 13.3 points below the district average. At the 2024 local election the neighborhood went to Yeniden Refah with 41 votes, while Patnos as a whole was won by AK Parti. The electorate grew from 68 registered voters in 2011 to 87 in 2023 — a change of about 28 percent.
