Gundogdu ranks 38th by electorate among the 41 localities of Taşlıçay. The neighborhood has a single ballot box, and 59 voters were registered there for the 2023 parliamentary election.

39 people voted at that election. Yeşil Sol Parti took the most votes with 17; AK Parti followed with 7. Yeşil Sol Parti's share here is 17.1 points below the district average. In the presidential runoff, 19 of 35 valid votes went to Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu; across the district that share was 68.8%. At the 2017 referendum 23 of 28 valid votes were 'yes'; across the district the 'yes' share was 41.8%.

At the 2024 local election the neighborhood went to AK Parti with 17 votes, while Taşlıçay as a whole was won by DEM Parti. Turnout at the 2023 parliamentary election was 66.1%, 10.6 points below the district average.
