A single ballot box served Kagnili at the 2023 parliamentary election, with 86 registered voters; that places it 34th among the 41 localities of Taşlıçay.

68 people voted at that election. Yeşil Sol Parti took the most votes with 56; AK Parti followed with 6. Yeşil Sol Parti's share here is 21.8 points above the district average. In the presidential runoff, 35 of 40 valid votes went to Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu — 18.7 points above the district average. At the 2017 referendum 30 of 44 valid votes were 'no' — 10.0 points above the district average.
