Yukaritoklu ranks 30th by electorate among the 41 localities of Taşlıçay. The neighborhood has a single ballot box, and 100 voters were registered there for the 2023 parliamentary election.
The neighborhood parts ways with the district as a whole. At the 2023 parliamentary election it went to AK Parti with 29 votes, while across Taşlıçay the leading party was Yeşil Sol Parti, with AK Parti here running 19.1 points above its district average. In the presidential runoff, 49 of 74 valid votes went to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan — 35.0 points above the district average. At the 2017 referendum 64 of 73 valid votes were 'yes' — 45.9 points above the district average.
At the 2024 local election the neighborhood went to AK Parti with 31 votes, while Taşlıçay as a whole was won by DEM Parti. The picture has not changed since 2009: AK Parti has finished first in all of the last 9 elections. The electorate shrank from 130 registered voters in 2011 to 100 in 2023 — a change of about 23 percent. The tightest race came at the 2009 local election: AK Parti took 34 votes to Demokrat Parti's 31 — a margin of just 3 votes.
