Gemis-Yeni is one of the localities of Çardak; it had 859 registered voters at the 2011 parliamentary election.
AK Parti took 404 of the 800 valid votes cast in the neighborhood at that election (50.5%). That puts the neighborhood 7.9 points above the party's district average. At the 2010 referendum 50.7% of the neighborhood voted 'yes' — 7.3 points above the district average.
At the 2009 local election the neighborhood went to CHP with 35.6%, while Çardak as a whole was won by AK Parti.
