Barbaros is one of the localities of Denizli Merkez; it had 1,446 registered voters at the 2011 parliamentary election.

AK Parti took 79.2% in the neighborhood at that election. Across Denizli Merkez the same party stood at 48.3%, putting the neighborhood 30.9 points above the district average. At the 2010 referendum 76.9% of the neighborhood voted 'yes'; across the district that was 46.6%.

The picture has not changed since 2009: AK Parti has finished first in all of the last 4 elections.
