Payas-Cumhuriyet is one of the localities of Dörtyol; it had 3,378 registered voters at the 2011 parliamentary election.

AK Parti took 50.7% in the neighborhood at that election. Across Dörtyol the same party stood at 44.0%, putting the neighborhood 6.7 points above the district average. At the 2010 referendum 69.1% of the neighborhood voted 'yes'; across the district that was 51.7%.
