Payas-Karacami is one of the localities of Dörtyol; it had 2,923 registered voters at the 2011 parliamentary election.

AK Parti took 948 of the 2,546 valid votes cast in the neighborhood at that election (37.2%). That puts the neighborhood 6.8 points below the party's district average. At the 2010 referendum 57.8% of the neighborhood voted 'no' — 9.5 points above the district average.
