Payas-Karacami is one of the localities of Dörtyol; it had 2,923 registered voters at the 2011 parliamentary election.

AK Parti took 37.2% in the neighborhood at that election. Across Dörtyol the same party stood at 44.0%, putting the neighborhood 6.8 points below the district average. At the 2010 referendum 57.8% of the neighborhood voted 'no'; across the district that was 48.3%.
