Payas-Karbeyaz is one of the localities of Dörtyol; it had 1,876 registered voters at the 2011 parliamentary election.

AK Parti took 945 of the 1,698 valid votes cast in the neighborhood at that election (55.7%). That puts the neighborhood 11.7 points above the party's district average. At the 2010 referendum 61.3% of the neighborhood voted 'yes' — 9.6 points above the district average.
