Payas-Karbeyaz is one of the localities of Dörtyol; it had 1,876 registered voters at the 2011 parliamentary election.

AK Parti took 55.7% in the neighborhood at that election. Across Dörtyol the same party stood at 44.0%, putting the neighborhood 11.7 points above the district average. At the 2010 referendum 61.3% of the neighborhood voted 'yes'; across the district that was 51.7%.

Turnout at the 2011 parliamentary election was 94.1%, 5.9 points above the district average.
