Payas-Yenisehir is one of the localities of Dörtyol; it had 1,390 registered voters at the 2011 parliamentary election.

AK Parti took 40.5% in the neighborhood at that election. Across Dörtyol the same party stood at 44.0%, putting the neighborhood 3.5 points below the district average. At the 2010 referendum 50.6% of the neighborhood voted 'no'; across the district that was 48.3%.
