Payas-Yildirim Beyazit is one of the localities of Dörtyol; it had 2,272 registered voters at the 2011 parliamentary election.

AK Parti took 50.5% in the neighborhood at that election. Across Dörtyol the same party stood at 44.0%, putting the neighborhood 6.5 points above the district average. At the 2010 referendum 64.3% of the neighborhood voted 'yes'; across the district that was 51.7%.

At the 2009 local election the neighborhood went to AK Parti with 38.2%, while Dörtyol as a whole was won by MHP.
