The neighborhood parts ways with the district as a whole. At the 2011 parliamentary election it went to AK Parti with 84.0%, while across Hatay Merkez the leading party was CHP with 66.4%, leaving AK Parti at 26.5%. At the 2010 referendum 85.3% of the neighborhood voted 'yes'; across the district that was 28.2%.
The picture has not changed since 2009: AK Parti has finished first in all of the last 4 elections. At the 2009 local election the neighborhood went to AK Parti with 77.3%, while Hatay Merkez as a whole was won by CHP. Turnout at the 2009 local election was 92.7%, 10.2 points above the district average.
