Cekmece-Pinarbasi is one of the localities of Hatay Merkez; it had 8,192 registered voters at the 2011 parliamentary election.
CHP took 6,146 of the 6,888 valid votes cast in the neighborhood at that election (89.2%). That puts the neighborhood 22.8 points above the party's district average. At the 2010 referendum 91.7% of the neighborhood voted 'no' — 19.9 points above the district average.
The tightest race came at the 2009 local election: CHP took 1,305 votes to DSP's 1,271 — a margin of just 34 votes. Turnout at the 2009 local election was 80.2%, 5.2 points below the district average.
