Cekmece-Pinarbasi is one of the localities of Hatay Merkez; it had 8,192 registered voters at the 2011 parliamentary election.
CHP took 89.2% in the neighborhood at that election. Across Hatay Merkez the same party stood at 66.4%, putting the neighborhood 22.8 points above the district average. At the 2010 referendum 91.7% of the neighborhood voted 'no'; across the district that was 71.8%.
Turnout at the 2009 local election was 80.2%, 5.2 points below the district average.
