Urgen Pasa is one of the localities of Hatay Merkez; it had 19,050 registered voters at the 2011 parliamentary election.
The neighborhood parts ways with the district as a whole. At the 2011 parliamentary election it went to AK Parti with 51.6%, while across Hatay Merkez the leading party was CHP with 66.4%, leaving AK Parti at 26.5%. At the 2010 referendum 51.7% of the neighborhood voted 'yes'; across the district that was 28.2%.
The picture has not changed since 2009: AK Parti has finished first in all of the last 4 elections. At the 2009 local election the neighborhood went to AK Parti with 43.6%, while Hatay Merkez as a whole was won by CHP.
