Ucgulluk-Cumhuriyet is one of the localities of İskenderun; it had 1,061 registered voters at the 2011 parliamentary election.
CHP took 93.7% in the neighborhood at that election. Across İskenderun the same party stood at 43.5%, putting the neighborhood 50.2 points above the district average. At the 2010 referendum 98.2% of the neighborhood voted 'no'; across the district that was 60.4%.
The picture has not changed since 2009: CHP has finished first in all of the last 4 elections.
