Same place, formerly a town. Until 2014 this was the town (belde) of Altınelma; when Law 6360 abolished the municipality it became today's neighborhood. The pre-2014 results on this page belong to that period; we combined them on one page so the place's history reads continuously.

Altinelma ranks 12th by electorate among the 66 localities of Afşin; it had 1,256 registered voters at the 2023 parliamentary election.
AK Parti took 39.6% in the neighborhood at that election. Across Afşin the same party stood at 46.3%, putting the neighborhood 6.7 points below the district average. In the presidential runoff Recep Tayyip Erdoğan took 72.1% here and 74.3% across the district. At the 2017 referendum 65.6% of the neighborhood voted 'yes'; across the district that was 70.4%.
The neighborhood has stayed on the same line since 2015: AK Parti has finished first in all of the last 10 elections. AK Parti recorded its highest share at the 2015 parliamentary election with 58.8%. AK Parti stood at 50.9% at the 2011 parliamentary election and fell to 39.6% by 2023. At the 2009 local election the neighborhood went to CHP with 38.5%, while Afşin as a whole was won by AK Parti. Turnout at the 2009 local election was 92.6%, 5.1 points above the district average.
