Same place, formerly a town. Until 2014 this was the town (belde) of Demircilik; when Law 6360 abolished the municipality it became today's neighborhood. The pre-2014 results on this page belong to that period; we combined them on one page so the place's history reads continuously.

Demircilik ranks 21st by electorate among the 93 localities of Elbistan; it had 902 registered voters at the 2023 parliamentary election.
The neighborhood parts ways with the district as a whole. At the 2023 parliamentary election it went to CHP with 92.9%, while across Elbistan the leading party was AK Parti with 42.8%, leaving CHP at 23.9%. The same divide shows in the presidential runoff: Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu took 98.3% here and 32.4% across the district. At the 2017 referendum 97.5% of the neighborhood voted 'no'; across the district that was 37.9%.
The neighborhood has stayed on the same line since 2023: CHP has finished first in all of the last 4 elections. CHP recorded its highest share at the 2011 parliamentary election with 93.9%. At the 2009 local election the neighborhood went to CHP with 54.2%, while Elbistan as a whole was won by AK Parti. Turnout at the 2009 local election was 53.6%, 30.5 points below the district average.
