Same place, formerly part of a town.Akpınar belonged to the town (belde) of Değirmendere until 2014; when Law 6360 abolished the municipality it became a separate neighborhood. The pre-2014 results on this page belong to that period.

AK Parti took 35.7% in the neighborhood at that election. Across Göksun the same party stood at 40.8%, putting the neighborhood 5.1 points below the district average. In the presidential runoff Recep Tayyip Erdoğan took 91.3% here and 75.5% across the district. At the 2010 referendum 77.2% of the neighborhood voted 'yes'; across the district that was 80.6%.
AK Parti stood at 57.7% at the 2011 parliamentary election and fell to 35.7% by 2023. Turnout at the 2009 local election was 94.8%, 6.8 points above the district average.
