Universite ranks 48th by electorate among the 104 localities of Battalgazi; it had 974 registered voters at the 2023 parliamentary election.
The neighborhood parts ways with the district as a whole. At the 2023 parliamentary election it went to CHP with 34.2%, while across Battalgazi the leading party was AK Parti with 52.2%, leaving CHP at 15.9%. The same divide shows in the presidential runoff: Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu took 51.6% here and 20.7% across the district.
The picture has not changed since 2023: CHP has finished first in all of the last 4 elections. At the 2024 local election the neighborhood went to CHP with 39.9%, while Battalgazi as a whole was won by AK Parti. Turnout at the 2024 local election was 62.8%, 7.5 points below the district average.
