Same place, formerly a town. Until 2014 this was the town (belde) of Sürgü; when Law 6360 abolished the municipality it became today's neighborhood. The pre-2014 results on this page belong to that period; we combined them on one page so the place's history reads continuously.

Surgu ranks 4th by electorate among the 39 localities of Doğanşehir; it had 2,195 registered voters at the 2023 parliamentary election.
AK Parti took 31.5% in the neighborhood at that election. Across Doğanşehir the same party stood at 32.4%, putting the neighborhood 0.8 points below the district average. In the presidential runoff Recep Tayyip Erdoğan took 64.5% here and 59.8% across the district. At the 2017 referendum 61.3% of the neighborhood voted 'yes'; across the district that was 56.2%.
The neighborhood has stayed on the same line since 2009: AK Parti has finished first in all of the last 16 elections. AK Parti recorded its highest share at the 2015 parliamentary election with 58.9%. AK Parti stood at 58.4% at the 2011 parliamentary election and fell to 31.5% by 2023. Turnout at the 2023 parliamentary election was 89.5%, 5.6 points above the district average.
