Same place, formerly a town. Until 2014 this was the town (belde) of Karakale; when Law 6360 abolished the municipality it became today's neighborhood. The pre-2014 results on this page belong to that period; we combined them on one page so the place's history reads continuously.

Karakale ranks 6th by electorate among the 37 localities of Korkut; it had 660 registered voters at the 2023 parliamentary election.
Yeşil Sol Parti took 75.5% in the village at that election. Across Korkut the same party stood at 64.0%, putting the village 11.5 points above the district average. In the presidential runoff Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu took 88.1% here and 68.7% across the district. At the 2017 referendum 79.4% of the village voted 'no'; across the district that was 53.8%.
The village has stayed on the same line since 2014: the same political line has finished first in all of the last 7 elections (BDP in 2014, Yeşil Sol Parti in 2015, HDP in 2019, DEM Parti in 2024). Yeşil Sol Parti stood at 97.9% at the 2015 parliamentary election and fell to 75.5% by 2023.
