Muratkolu ranks 76th by electorate among the 78 localities of Malazgirt. The neighborhood has a single ballot box, and 47 voters were registered there for the 2023 parliamentary election.
The neighborhood parts ways with the district as a whole. At the 2023 parliamentary election it went to AK Parti with 20 votes, while across Malazgirt the leading party was Yeşil Sol Parti with 74.7%, leaving AK Parti at 13.0%. In the presidential runoff, 24 of 41 valid votes went to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan; across the district that share was 22.4%. At the 2017 referendum 27 of 46 valid votes were 'yes'; across the district the 'yes' share was 28.5%.
The neighborhood has stayed on the same line since 2018: AK Parti has finished first in all of the last 4 elections. At the 2024 local election the neighborhood went to AK Parti with 25 votes, while Malazgirt as a whole was won by DEM Parti. Turnout at the 2023 parliamentary election was 91.5%, 15.2 points above the district average.
