Mescitli ranks 120th by electorate among the 145 localities of Muş; it had 136 registered voters at the 2023 parliamentary election.

Yeşil Sol Parti took 85.0% in the neighborhood at that election. Across Muş the same party stood at 37.7%, putting the neighborhood 47.3 points above the district average. In the presidential runoff Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu took 92.9% here and 46.3% across the district. At the 2017 referendum 86.5% of the neighborhood voted 'no'; across the district that was 35.3%.
