Olcekli is one of the localities of Varto; it had 396 registered voters at the 2015 parliamentary election.
Yeşil Sol Parti took 98.5% in the neighborhood at that election. Across Varto the same party stood at 91.0%, putting the neighborhood 7.5 points above the district average. In the presidential election Selahattin Demirtaş took 98.9% here and 88.1% across the district. At the 2017 referendum 94.6% of the neighborhood voted 'no'; across the district that was 86.1%.
The neighborhood has stayed on the same line since 2014: the same political line has finished first in all of the last 5 elections (BDP in 2014, Yeşil Sol Parti in 2015, HDP in 2019, DEM Parti in 2024).
