Same place, formerly part of a town.Dereagzı belonged to the town (belde) of Akdamar until 2014; when Law 6360 abolished the municipality it became a separate neighborhood. The pre-2014 results on this page belong to that period.

Dereagzi ranks 11th by electorate among the 41 localities of Gevaş; it had 533 registered voters at the 2023 parliamentary election.
The neighborhood parts ways with the district as a whole. At the 2023 parliamentary election it went to AK Parti with 39.4%, while across Gevaş the leading party was Yeşil Sol Parti with 43.3%, leaving AK Parti at 38.6%. In the presidential runoff Recep Tayyip Erdoğan took 70.2% here and 53.0% across the district. At the 2010 referendum 99.0% of the neighborhood voted 'yes'; across the district that was 96.8%.
The picture has not changed since 2009: AK Parti has finished first in all of the last 11 elections. AK Parti stood at 75.4% at the 2011 parliamentary election and fell to 39.4% by 2023. Turnout at the 2009 local election was 92.3%, 8.5 points above the district average.
