How Kayabasi votes

A single ballot box served Kayabasi at the 2023 parliamentary election, with 59 registered voters; that places it 81st among the 97 localities of Akdağmadeni.

45 people voted at that election. AK Parti took the most votes with 19; İYİ Parti followed with 14. AK Parti's share here is 2.2 points below the district average. In the presidential runoff, 36 of 43 valid votes went to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan — 2.5 points above the district average. At the 2017 referendum 35 of 40 valid votes were 'yes' — 8.3 points above the district average.

At the 2024 local election the neighborhood went to AK Parti with 16 votes, while Akdağmadeni as a whole was won by MHP. The picture has not changed since 2009: AK Parti has finished first in all of the last 9 elections. Turnout at the 2024 local election was 55.2%, 22.2 points below the district average. The electorate shrank from 96 registered voters in 2011 to 59 in 2023 — a change of about 39 percent.
