Baydemirli-Baspinar is one of the localities of Kahramanmaras Merkez; it had 590 registered voters at the 2011 parliamentary election.
AK Parti took 80.3% in the neighborhood at that election. Across Kahramanmaras Merkez the figure was 80.3%, almost exactly the district average. At the 2010 referendum 98.5% of the neighborhood voted 'yes'; across the district that was 89.4%.
At the 2009 local election the neighborhood went to BBP with 51.1%, while Kahramanmaras Merkez as a whole was won by AK Parti. Turnout at the 2011 parliamentary election was 69.2%, 21.2 points below the district average.
