Karalar is one of the localities of Şefaatli. The village has a single ballot box, and 200 voters were registered there for the 2018 parliamentary election.

166 people voted at that election. AK Parti took the most votes with 104; MHP followed with 36. AK Parti's share here is 15.4 points above the district average. In the presidential election, 135 of 163 valid votes went to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan; across the district that share was 66.8%.
