Kaygili ranks 19th by electorate among the 52 localities of Şefaatli. The village has a single ballot box, and 140 voters were registered there for the 2023 parliamentary election.

124 people voted at that election. AK Parti took the most votes with 48; MHP followed with 35. AK Parti's share here is 0.9 points above the district average. In the presidential runoff, 100 of 117 valid votes went to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan; across the district that share was 69.1%. At the 2017 referendum 100 of 130 valid votes were 'yes'; across the district the 'yes' share was 64.3%.

At the 2024 local election the village went to MHP with 34 votes, while Şefaatli as a whole was won by AK Parti. Turnout at the 2024 local election was 64.0%, 20.6 points below the district average.
